BSR Energy
Creating the landscape for net zero
Delivering value. Reducing carbon.
The UK has committed to reducing its carbon emissions by 78% by 2035. What’s more, this commitment has been enshrined in law. Renewable electricity generation, including solar, will play a key role in this journey.
BSR specialises in developing ground-mounted solar PV and energy storage projects, either to deliver power to the grid or to feed the demand of large energy users. We’re proud to be part of the UK’s green ambitions, while delivering value to the communities we work with.
Identify & Survey
We find suitable, low-grade farmland for our solar park projects, developing feasibility studies and contacting landowners.
Present. Amend. Approve
We pride ourselves on engaging with all local stakeholders, including Parish Councils and the planning departments of Local Authorities. We discuss and review all potential project plans, taking into account the flora and fauna of the location.
Construct. Maintain. Monitor
With over a decade’s development experience, we’re able to see our projects through from inception to construction and beyond. We maintain and monitor our parks to ensure they continue to deliver value and efficiency.
Leave No Trace
When it’s time to decommission our solar parks, we have a ‘leave no trace’ policy. The site can either be returned to low-grade farmland or continue to be a diverse home for wildlife.

Testimonial Video
Our cultural affinity with communities, landowners, the land and the biodiveristy which lives within it.
We believe in biodiversity
Through eco-initiatives, such as sowing wildflowers and building bug hotels, solar parks can become a haven for nature. In fact, we achieve a 25% net biodiversity gain across our parks.
Our new North Dairy site will include the creation of wildflower-rich grassland and native hedgerows, as well as meadow grassland beneath and between the solar panels. These measures will deliver a 54.39% net gain in Habitat Units and a 13.08% net gain in Hedgerow Units.
