Swindon Solar Park was developed in conjunction with We-Link Energy on land owned by the British Science Museum. The park was built on the former RAF Wroughton airfield, alongside the test track for a certain popular TV show about cars… Swindon was another example of BSR’s ability to deliver large, quality projects under tight deadlines, with the park being built in under 10 weeks & during very wet weather.
The energy generated by this site is taken by HSBC bank in order to power their UK operations under a 15 year sleeved PPA agreement. This innovative offtake structure enables HSBC to lock in certainty around their long term cost of green energy while simultaneously de-risking the cashflow profile for the owners of the solar park.
