British Solar Renewables (BSR), the largest privately owned UK solar developer and third largest solar developer in the UK, has appointed PKF Francis Clark to advise on the company’s acquisition. BSR has successfully developed, constructed and operated fifty-seven solar plants and has an initial 1GW PV development pipeline in the UK and Australia. As BSR enters its next growth phase, whilst currently a self-funding developer, the company is exploring acquisition opportunities to fulfil its potential as a global owner of renewable assets.

Over the course of the last decade, BSR has become one of the leading, vertically integrated (developing, building, owning, operating and maintaining solar parks) global renewables platforms. The renewable energy specialist has a proven track record of developing and delivering utility scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects and has established a five-year plus business plan for geographical and technological growth.

BSR is self-funding from a development perspective, and recognises that to fully achieve its potential as a global owner of renewable assets it will require increased access to construction finance and growth capital. In order to meet the company’s impressive future objectives, existing shareholders are unanimous in their belief that acquisition is now necessary. Therefore, following a strategic review, BSR’s shareholders with full support of the management team are considering a sale of the business. Offers are being sought to acquire 100% of the business, and interested parties are encouraged to contact PKF Francis Clark.

Tim Humpage, CEO BSR said:

We’re incredibly proud of all that BSR has achieved over the last decade. Through ambition and dedication, the management team has created a unique platform, prime for growth and expansion. This is a unique moment for the sector, as it seeks to support the UK in achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The time is right to seek acquisition, in order that we can reach our full potential as a global owner of renewable assets”.
