How we make a difference

Community Commitment Pledge

Renewable energy projects should do more than generate clean energy. They should create lasting value for the people and places around them.

That's why we've created our Community Commitment Pledge: a public commitment that sets out how we work with communities before, during and long after our renewable energy projects are built. It reflects our belief that successful clean energy projects are built on trust, openness and long-term relationships.

Why we created the Community Commitment Pledge

The transition to clean energy is one of the biggest changes taking place both locally and nationally. It is reshaping how energy is generated, how land is used and how communities share in its benefits.

At British Solar Renewables, we believe renewable energy projects should deliver real value for the places they become part of. That means being present, listening carefully and investing in ways that support everyday life and future opportunities.

For us, community engagement is more than a planning requirement. It is an ongoing responsibility. Our Community Commitment Pledge sets out how we will build relationships, create opportunities and remain connected throughout the life of a project.

Our commitments

The pledge is built around four core commitments that guide how we work:

01.

Positive impact

Acting in a way that is positive for both the planet and the communities we operate in.

02.

Health and safety

Keeping everyone who works with and for us healthy and safe.

03.

Respect and fairness

Treating people with respect, fairness and dignity.

04.

Responsible operations

Minimising the impact of our activities through responsible operations, sustainable procurement and consumption

Our promises

What communities can expect from us

A shared commitment

Our Community Commitment Pledge reflects how we want to work with communities throughout the life of a project.

This is a long‑term responsibility for us. Our role does not stop at planning or construction. The transition to clean energy should support the places it powers, in ways that are practical, visible and long‑lasting.
