Suitability depends on three main factors:

• Grid connection – Your land must be close to a part of the electricity network with available capacity.
• Planning considerations – Factors like land grade, ecology, landscape, flood risk, and heritage designations are carefully assessed.
• Construction suitability – Ideally, sites are flat or gently sloping and accessible for construction vehicles.

Yes. For solar farms, sheep can graze under and around panels, maintaining dual use of the land. For wind turbines, normal agricultural activities can continue around turbine bases.

Our solar and wind projects are usually built on lower-grade agricultural land, leaving prime land for food production. We design our developments to have as minimal an impact on agriculture as possible. In fact, renewable projects provide additional income for farmers, helping to safeguard UK farming for the long term.

Construction typically lasts 6–9 months. We work with consultants to prepare a detailed construction plan to minimise disruption. Once operational, solar and wind farms are quiet, safe, and unobtrusive.

Solar farms are almost silent, with only low-level noise from inverters and transformers, which cannot be heard beyond the site boundary. Wind turbines make a consistent “whooshing” sound, but modern designs minimise this impact and comply with strict noise standards.

At the end of the agreement, you can choose to extend the lease or have the site decommissioned. If decommissioned, the equipment is removed, and the land is restored to its previous state or left as an enhanced biodiversity habitat, depending on your preference.
