What you will be doing in this role:
The GIS Analyst role is suited to an experienced applicant who is seeking a rewarding career, with the opportunity to grow further within a close-knit team in the fast-paced renewable energy sector.

This role will be performing key geospatial duties for the land acquisition and development teams at BSR EPC. Involving building, maintaining, and enhancing BSR’s geographical information systems (GIS), resources, and capabilities, to support renewable energy developments.

The role will involve working closely with BSR’s experienced land acquisition and development teams, seeking technical input from the engineering team.

This role will be reporting directly to the Land Acquisition Manager at BSR EPC’s Melbourne or Brisbane offices.

This role is a one-year fixed term contract.

What we need from you:

  • Continuous development and maintenance of GIS databases and systems
  • Analyse, interpret, and output spatial data and derived products to identify suitable land for renewable energy development
  • Preparation of high-quality prospecting and stakeholder maps to support the land acquisition and development teams
  • Ensure that spatial data, maps, and information is up-to-date, accurate, and available when required
  • Searching, processing, and management of land title ownership data
  • Document control, revision, optimisation, and general maintenance of the GIS filing system
  • Continual process and procedure review and improvement
  • Working with the development team to assist in the management of development pipeline data
  • Working with the engineering team to better understand project design, technical constraints, and to ensure continual improvement
  • Site visits, as required
  • Attending meetings, providing feedback, and reporting
  • Provide training and support to users of BSR’s GIS, as required
  • Completing tasks to assist the greater team, as and when needed.

Experience:

  • Experience within GIS, data, and systems management - minimum 3 years
  • Environmental data experience, desirable
  • Experience within the renewables industry, highly desirable
  • Experienced user of the following software:
    • ArcGIS Pro, Online, and Field Maps
    • Python skills (preferred)
    • Terrasmart SIFT (preferred)
    • PVSyst (preferred)
    • AutoCAD – Understand AS1100drawing standards
    • MSOffice: Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint

Education:

  • Degree in Geospatial Science, Geomatics, Cartography, Spatial Information or related discipline
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • First Aid, CPR, and construction WHS training will be provided.
