What you will be doing in this role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Site/Construction Manager to deliver a 37.2MWP Solar Project, located in northern Victoria, Australia.
Drawing on internal and external resources the Site/Construction Manager will involve the planning and implementation of an agreed list of functions and deliverables across the EPC project life span from Design through commissioning to handover.
The successful candidate will be required to oversee project team at site and resources to ensure the project is delivered as per the construction program and within the project budget utilising BSR’s processes and procedures.
The successful candidate will be responsible in evaluating progression and reporting back to the BSR Construction Project Manager in Brisbane.
What we need from you:
- Ensuring a high standard of Health and Safety is being followed on site.
- Establishing project-specific health, safety, environment and quality processes
- Ensuring works are being carried out in accordance to these HSEQ processes
- Consult with and communicate HSEQ values throughout the project team including Subcontractors and their workers.
- Managing the project site, site staff and Subcontractors
- Analyse and collate production figures, reporting to the Construction Project Manager
- Create and maintain a clear communication channel from Subcontractors to the Construction Project Manager
- A high-level understanding of technical specifications and construction activities required to deliver high value solar projects safely and successfully.
- Coordinating/communicating with landowner, the client developer, all stakeholders involved in the construction process.
- Implementing coordinated work programs for sites.
- Adhere to design deliverables to ensure compliance with building legislation and standards of performance, quality, cost and safety regulations.
- Taking ownership to deliver execution of the project from subcontract award through to achievement of Commercial Operation.
- Coordinate site and building inspections with the appropriate local authorities and stakeholders, as required.
- Checking designs have mitigated all potential risks to an acceptable level and that works are being carried out in accordance with specific approved SWMS/JSEAs
- Manage the QA/QC process of all works onsite.
- Oversee development of ITPs, audits and reviews targeting continual improvement
- Auditing and observing site procedures weekly.
- Ensure Site-Specific Inductions (as required) are successfully completed by all workers prior to starting construction work.
- Ensure compliance with Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) processes and approvals.
Authorities:
- Approving Subcontractor HSEQ procedures including SWMS and JSEAs
- Approving Notice of Energisation (NOEs) following approval of CoESs by ESV.
- Quality assessor and controller
- Reviewing ITPs, NCRs and audit findings
What skills will you have?
- Successful delivery of at least two renewable projects of a similar nature in the position of construction manager.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Australian electrical legislation and installation requirements.
- Construction experience within the state of Victoria preferable.
- An understanding of Integrated Management Systems and ISO9001, ISO140001, ISO45001.
- Experience coordinating and working with Owners Engineers and Technical Advisors.
Education:
- Electrical trade qualification preferable, with the aim of becoming a QTP Nominee for the business.
- Advanced skills in MS Office suite, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
