Coldharbour Farm Solar Park
Coldharbour Farm Solar Park is a new 49.99MW solar development approved near Dolton in Devon. Once operational, the project will generate clean electricity for at least 12,501 homes each year and is expected to offset around 11,702 tonnes of CO₂ annually. It marks an important step in supporting both local resilience and the national transition to low‑carbon energy.
The project has been approved at a time when many households are experiencing rising energy costs and increasing concern over energy security. With Torridge District Council declaring a climate emergency in 2019, and the UK working towards its legally binding target of net zero by 2050, locally produced renewable power is becoming ever more essential.

Working with and for communities
The project supports Devon’s long‑term transition to cleaner, more resilient energy generation. By producing electricity close to where it is used, Coldharbour Farm will help reduce pressure on the grid and offer a stable, dependable source of renewable power for local households.
During the lead‑up to construction, the project team will keep residents informed through regular updates. This includes sharing information on construction activities, expected site movements and how any issues raised by the community will be addressed.

Environmental and landscape considerations
Coldharbour Farm Solar Park has been designed to sit sensitively within the surrounding landscape. The project will deliver a combined biodiversity net gain of more than 10 percent, with targeted enhancements to support local habitats and improve the long‑term health of the site. Measures will be put in place to protect existing features and introduce new ecological value, helping wildlife thrive alongside renewable energy generation.
