Land Manager

About this role:
Reporting to the Land Manager, the Land Manager will be responsible for assisting the wider Development team with the delivery of large-scale solar PV, energy and energy storage projects. This position will involve securing Exclusivity Agreements, Head of Terms, Option and Lease Agreements, Wayleave and Easements.

Working within agreed budgets and time frames, the Land Manager will be expected to maintain a disciplined tracking and reporting regime using recognised project management techniques and tools.

The role requires a high-level understanding of commercial, legal, technical and construction activities required to successfully deliver high value energy-based projects.

What we need from you:

  • Contribute to securing satisfactory project opportunities and to collaborate closely with our site acquisition, grid, project management, commercial and legal teams
  • Manage, negotiate and secure land option and lease agreements
  • Develop strong relationships with internal team members.
  • Conduct site visits and meetings with landowners and development consultants, updating site visit reports, where applicable.
  • Review of title and advise on suitability of land for development
  • Deputise for Senior Land Manager in their absence
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure options are exercised and progressed to Lease in line with programme and construction technical requirements.
  • Ensuring that health and safety is at the forefront of all decision making – ‘Everyone Safe Always’.
  • Experience in Land Management/Surveying

Experience you will need:

  • A property professional with demonstrated experience in a relevant role.
  • Experience as a land manager, identifying, negotiating and securing land rights for solar, BESS and co-located projects and other renewable technologies is advantageous
  • Ability to use GIS and common IT products
  • The role requires a high-level understanding of commercial, legal, technical and construction activities required to successfully deliver high value solar PV projects.

What skills you will have:

  • MRICS
  • Relevant or transferable experience
  • Experience in ground mount solar PV, wind and/or other renewables energy/infrastructure projects advantageous
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information System)
  • Self-motivated and self-starter
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A team player who listens, learns and actively communicates across all levels of the Group.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral.
