Assistant Management Accountant


What you will be doing in this role:

The Assistant Management Accountant will be responsible for the management accounts preparation and interrogation along with budgeting and forecasting for a group of trading entities. The role will work closely with the Management Accountant to manage and oversee specific finance functions and to provide financial support to both internal and external stakeholders.

What we need from you:

  • Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including group consolidation adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Development of budgets and forecasts – liaison with business partners is key with emphasis on O&M and central functions
  • Monthly presentations and challenge of results to departmental teams
  • Working with the Management Accountant and Financial Controller to manage the finance function
  • Work with the Management Accountant and ESG team to produce environmental reporting to monitor our Carbon footprint consumption and to maintain our ISO 50001 accreditation
  • Developing and managing financial systems, databases, policies and procedures
  • Miscellaneous reporting as required

What experience will you have?

  • Actively studying ACA, ACCA, CIMA. However, this role is also suitable for persons qualified by experience who demonstrate the key skills and experience required.

Skill requirement:

  • Intermediate to advanced use of excel
  • Knowledge of Sage line 50
  • Management accounts experience
  • Construction sector experience useful
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

  • ERP knowledge/experience
