About this role:
Reporting to the Senior Site Acquisition Manager, the Site Acquisition Manager will be responsible for securing sites with a viable grid connection, realistic prospects of planning success and the capability for Head of Terms and an Option and Lease Agreement to be agreed with the view to develop a new large-scale solar, wind and energy storage projects.
The Site Acquisition Manager will be self-motivated and enjoy building and maintaining strong relationships with landowners and their representatives whilst maintaining a high-level understanding of commercial, legal, technical and construction activities required to successfully deliver high value renewable energy projects.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensuring that health and safety is at the forefront of all decision making. An enjoyment and confidence to build and maintain strong face-to-face relationships with landowners and their representatives
- Arrange and carry out face-to-face meetings with landowners and their representatives on site visits
- Capacity to listen to, and negotiate with, a range of people
- Maintain a continual review process with the Grid team to evaluate future grid connection opportunities.
- Obtain all signed documents required to submit grid applications from landowners and their representatives.
- Support the Land Manager in their role negotiating HoTs and Option and Lease agreement
- Work closely with the Land Manager, commercial, planning teams to ensure suitability of land for development.
- Maintain an awareness of market conditions and the impact of internal as well as external policy changes.
- Prepare presentation to present to senior management
- Take responsibility for projects from the earliest stages
- Capacity to source new opportunities through other means
- Arrange and attend site visits to assess potential sites for development
- Ensure suitable communication is always maintained with landowners or their representatives
- Compile and present site development presentations for approval
- Ensure that the ArcGIS mapping system is maintained as fit for purpose
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in / knowledge of renewable energy sector advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience in a forward-facing site/land acquisition role advantageous but not essential
- Ability to use GIS and common IT products
- Experience in the renewables sector preferred
- GIS systems, not essential
- Degree or equivalent qualification
