About this project

The Batchelor Solar Farms — Batchelor One and Batchelor Solar Farm Co — are twin renewable energy sites located approximately 1km east of Batchelor in Australia’s Northern Territory. Together, they deliver 20MW of clean, reliable electricity to the local grid through the Batchelor 132/22kV Zone Substation.

Each solar farm is connected via underground cabling, designed to minimise land disturbance and visual impact while maintaining grid reliability.

The projects show how responsible renewable energy development can support regional communities, strengthen grid stability, and protect the natural environment.

Working with and for communities

At BSR, we know renewable energy production truly succeeds when it benefits the people and the land that host it.

From early consultation through to operation, our team engaged closely with landowners, neighbours, community groups, and local businesses, ensuring both Batchelor sites reflect local priorities and values.

These projects have:

  • Created local jobs and supported small business supply chains.
  • Helped develop renewable energy skills within the regional workforce.
  • Operated responsibly with no air emissions, minimal water use, and a small carbon footprint.
  • Respected the cultural heritage of the Batchelor region, minimising environmental impact during every stage of construction and operation.

Situated near the stunning Litchfield National Park, the Batchelor Solar Farms demonstrate how renewable power and natural heritage can thrive side by side.
