Fideoak Battery
South Somerset District Council’s 28MW Battery Energy Storage site (BESS) that is at the cutting edge of renewable energy technology is set to be expanded to its maximum capacity by developing another 5MW with SSDC Opium Power Ltd to help produce and store more clean and renewable energy, which will provide essential support to the National Grid.

22 battery units on the site. These will allow the batteries to provide balancing services to National Grid and participate in any of the UK’s 15 flexibility markets.
