A Day of Planting: BSR Supports Shepton Snowdrops Project
At British Solar Renewables, we’re proud to be more than just a developer of renewable energy. Based in Shepton Mallet, we’re committed to supporting the communities where we live and work - celebrating the heritage, nature, and local pride that make our town special.

This autumn, our team spent a day volunteering with the Shepton Snowdrops Project, a local community initiative that honours James Allen, the 19th-century “Snowdrop King.” Alongside our team of volunteers, we helped with snowdrop bulb planting across public spaces and roadside verges, contributing to a stunning seasonal display that residents and visitors can enjoy each February.
Being part of this Shepton Mallet community project gave us the chance to connect with local people, celebrate the town’s rich history, and support an initiative that brings long-term beauty to the area. For us, volunteering isn’t just about planting bulbs - it’s about being a responsible local neighbour as well as a renewable energy developer.

Supporting projects like the Shepton Snowdrops shows how we contribute to local heritage initiatives, adding life, colour, and pride to Shepton Mallet. It’s a small gesture, but one that reflects our ongoing commitment to the communities we’re part of.
